Eline Klein (1959) is a Dutch photographer. As an artist she is a storyteller. The aim is to challenge the viewer to look beyond the surface of things/photographs. For her series ‘Stereo Stories’ and ‘Hidden Histories’ she was strolling around on flea markets where strange objects and forgotten photographs call her attention. It’s mostly the story behind them which fascinate Klein. By placing her photos of hidden stories in a new context, she creates a new story and with it a new life for objects or situations. ‘Still There’ is a tryptic of photographs Eline Klein created for the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Galerie VCR, The photographs are a visual translation of a personal, nostalgic feeling of a certain place where time has stood still. A given described by the artist as comforting.
